Thoroughbred The English and theArabic
A Thoroughbred is exactly what it says : It is through bred. The studbooks of the English thoroughbred horses go hundreds of years back. They are bred entirely for racing. But are used in Equestrian sport too. Mainly in competitions speed and endurance is important like 3 day events or endurance riding.
Warmblood Used for riding and light draft. The warmblood is a bit more sturdy than
the thoroughbred and was used for the Militaire and was used for light
draft. Nowadays warmbloods are mixed with thoroughbred to make
them more elegant and a very high performance in Equestrian sport are
warmblood hoses.
Coldblood Are the heavy horses. These are not many left unfortunately. But there are is not so much to do for them anymore. The times of heavy carriages are over. Some breweries still use them for parades and shows.
Ponies Up to 1.50 M Horses are called Pony. There are many different breeds all
over the world. In today's breeds, the Arabian horse has the widest influence. Arabs have been used extensively to improve many native breeds of horses. They played a part too in the origins of the English thoroughbred horse. In the general studbook all English thoroughbred horses can be traced to three Arabian stallions which were imported to England in the late 17th century.
